This original 1937 Art Deco Bathing Pavilion is unique, as the only venue of its kind with direct access to the beach in the Brisbane area.
Offering the finest local, fresh, seasonal produce for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Takeaway. Modern menus focus on local seafood, meats and vegetables, accompanied with a selection of Australian & International wines, beers and ciders, all served by our team of enthusiastic and passionate professionals.
Once you enter Suttons Pavilion, the first thing you notice is the beach view, which offers an overwhelming background to the clean line of the restaurant and café, which houses one of the largest authentic American style BBQ smokers in the country.
The proximity of the beach is a constant reminder of the link between a beach pavilion and the reinvented restaurant. While the historic landmark has now clearly outlived its original purpose, a new life has been breathed into its fabric with the new owners recently taking over the reins.
It is such a unique experience to sit in the Fish & Chippery, Restaurant, Tapas Terrace Bar or Café and absorb the view and the activities of the beach and the bay, with its ever-present beach-goers and sailboats in the distance, or just grab some take away and sit on the beach or grass, or at one the many available tables.
The venue is the ideal venue for your event, whether it be a Wedding, Birthday, Corporate event, or just a catch up with friends and family. Using one or more of the many spaces that offer open, airy and light filled expanses all with the stunning views across the Bay and is complemented by the adjoining function centre which can cater for 300 guests.

Freshly ground and poured coffee by our team of enthusiastic professionals, to help you kick start the day the right way. Served every day from 730am. With a selection of homemade cakes, toasties, croissants & breads etc, including several GF options along with fresh juices, ice creams, ice blocks and much more.
Currently served from 8am Mon-Sun. Serving hot and cold dishes, sit in or takeaway. Using the finest local products, all our dishes are homemade with love. Serving favourites such as Avo Smash, Savoury Mince and many other healthy and delicious breakfast options to set you up for the day properly. We also serve some light bite lunch options as well.
DEDICATED TO THEIR CRAFT
Our team of talented, hardworking chefs bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the the peninsular, with backgrounds working in many countries they ensure our regularly changing menus use the best of local, seasonal and sustainable ingredients to offer our customers unique tastes, textures and flavours.
The kitchen brigade is lead by Head Chef Michael Harris, a two-hatted chef, Michael has been a prominent figure in the hospitality industry for over 20 years. Born and raised in the village of Bampton, Oxfordshire in the UK. Michael’s experience is heavily focused on gastronomy and fine dining, having started his apprenticeship at the flagship London hotel, the Dorchester. He then went on to train with the famous Andoni Luis Aduriz of Mugaritz and Philippe Legendre of La Cinq, both two-Michelin starred chefs.
Coming from an impressive background, having worked with Jamie Oliver and Heston Blumenthal in highly esteemed kitchens across Europe and Asia. Michael arrived in Australia several years ago after a stint at Raffles Hotel Singapore and sometime in New Zealand and brings with him a wealth of knowledge, experience and passion to the Peninsular.
Most recently, he has been head chef at Watt Restaurant in Brisbane’s trendy Powerhouse Precinct in New Farm. But wanted to move to the stunning beachside location of the Pavilion and the opportunity to work for a small independent business, where he can take full ownership of the menu and the direction of the food.
With everything, from in house smoked meats from the Pavilion’s giant smoker, local seafood, to breads being prepared from scratch, in-house. Sourcing produce from local farmers and suppliers, will enable Michael to ensure everything that leaves his kitchen is of the highest standard. Michael’s technical experience and flair for flavour is extensive. By bringing these skills and knowledge to the Pavilion, he brings valuable insight to fine dining to create an affordable, simple, clean and fresh menu and make the fine dining experience more accessible on the Peninsula.

Suttons Beach Pavilion offers numerous function spaces to hold your next corporate event. Whether this be a small gathering in our intimate boardroom, or a larger group in one of our two function rooms which individually can accommodate up to 150 delegates, or combined to accommodate 300 comfortably.
Together with our professional food and beverage staff, our events co-ordinator can tailor a package and cater to your specific requirements and ensure your function runs smoothly.
